Callie also smiled at Giselle.
Seeing her ill-intentioned smile, Giselle's heart tightened, and a sense of unease rose within her. One glance was all it took for her to know that Callie was up to no good.
Still smiling, Callie asked, "Ms. Lane, why are you staring at me like that? Is there something on my face?"
As she spoke, she picked up her phone and checked her reflection.
Giselle smiled and shook her head. "I just think you're very good-looking. You really don't look like someone who's been married before."
At the mention of marriage, the smile vanished from Callie's face, replaced by a cold sneer.
Only then did Giselle sit down, satisfied.
She had barely taken her seat when Helen served a fish dish in front of her. The moment Giselle caught the fishy smell, a familiar wave of nausea surged up.
