The food tasted like cardboard to Giselle as she ate without much appetite. Just then, Helen walked in with the doctor, Leon Reese.
Seeing how quickly he had arrived, Eleanor asked curiously, "Dr. Reese, how come it's you this time? How did you get here so fast?"
Leon smiled and explained, "I happened to be visiting another patient nearby. Ms. Harding called me just in time. If it had been any later, I would've already left."
"Well then, that really is fate. Giselle, hurry and let Dr. Reese examine you. He's an expert in this field," Eleanor said with a smile.
Knowing she had no reason to refuse, Giselle obediently extended her hand so Leon could examine her.
Before long, Leon's smile faded, and his expression turned serious.
Seeing that, everyone grew anxious. Eleanor, in particular, was so nervous that she clutched her chest, her brows knitting tighter. She was even more nervous than she would have been if she herself were the patient.
