A hot, briny sea wind swept across the private harbor north of Caldermo. The Corsini family and the Rossi family had pushed their fight over Eastside Cargo Pier No. 3 to the boiling point. What had started as business friction had tightened into something sharper after several small gunfights, leaving everything strung tight like wire.
