The following days passed quietly.
I rested in the ward, and whenever I had the energy, I went to see Maple and Captain Crunch.
It turned out Ashton had been right. Every time I visited, if I didn’t focus on Captain Crunch, she’d start crying. I had no choice but to stay close to her, while poor Maple was left on his own.
