Austin paused. Looking at Suzanne, he asked in a suggestive voice, "Miss me?" The tone of his voice was like a feather, tickling Suzanne's senses and making her heart flutter. She lowered the bowl in her hands. Looking at Austin, she nodded meekly and uttered, "Yeah." Her unhesitating admission stunned Austin. A gush of warmth filled his heart. Staring straight at Suzanne, he said tenderly, "I'll be back in two to three days." That took Suzanne aback. As much as she missed Austin, she hadn't expected him to be back in three days. Fixing her eyes on him, she probed, "That's quick. Is your work there all done?" Austin nodded. Just as he was about to reply, a notification popped up on his screen, stating that the reception wasn't great. Thereafter, the video call froze momentarily before being cut off. Suzanne was filled with helplessness as she looked at her screen. After all, Austin was in a mountainous area. It was good enough that they were able to have that brief video call.
