The doorbell rang just as Charles and I were finishing our meal. He answered and let in a young woman who looked barely out of her teens. “Um, hi,” she murmured, fiddling with her purse. “I-is Theo here?” “Ah, you must be Theo’s girlfriend.” Charles opened the door wider, and she entered, looking nervous. When she passed him, she scooted wide to give him room, but I saw her nostrils flare as she took in his scent. She might be nervous around an alpha, but she liked what she smelled.
