Jeanette's expression didn't change. "Ms. Sinclair, not everything in this world revolves around you."
Bianca's face darkened instantly. "Are you provoking me?"
Jeanette gave a faint, sarcastic smile. "You're reading too much into it."
Bianca let out a short, humorless laugh. She studied Jeanette closely. There was no guilt in her eyes, no panic, just impatience.
When Bianca had asked what she'd overheard, Jeanette hadn't panicked at all. She hadn't even bothered to explain herself, choosing instead to respond with sarcasm.
That didn't look like the reaction of someone who had really overheard anything.

She lowered her gaze, thinking it over for a moment. Then she smoothed her expression and said, "Sorry, Ms. Young. I thought you were following me, so I overreacted. Please don't take it to heart."
