Jack was stunned for a moment before he rushed to explain himself. "It was too cold last night, so Phoebe and I hugged each other to stay warm. I was worried you would misunderstand, so I didn't tell you."
Feena nodded in understanding. After all, it was the middle of winter, and the winds atop the mountain were so cold they would chill one to the bone. In such a dangerous situation, Jack and Phoebe didn't have any other choice but to rely on one another.
However, Feena could still feel a heaviness weighing down her heart, especially when she recalled the complicated look in Phoebe's eyes during the bus ride. She wasn't sure why, but she felt very troubled.
Even though Feena chose to believe in Jack's words, she still couldn't help herself and asked, "There's nothing going on between you and Phoebe, right?"
"No," Jack answered decisively.
